- Offer will be significantly increased compared to summer 2021.
- North American destinations Tampa Bay (Florida), Denver, Las Vegas, Calgary and Vancouver will be served again.
- Bergen in Norway, Bilbao in Spain and Cork in Ireland are new to the route network.
Edelweiss, the leading Swiss leisure airline, offers 75 holiday destinations in 32 countries worldwide on its route network in its 2022 summer flight schedule. This is 13 more destinations than this summer. On short- and medium-haul routes, there are 56 flights to dream holiday destinations. The number of flights has increased by 16% compared to summer 2021. The service has been expanded primarily to the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, Egypt, Italy, and northern Europe. In addition, Newquay (Cornwall) in England will be served for the first time.
After a long hiatus, long-haul flights to popular holiday destinations in North America are returning. Edelweiss will resume flights to Tampa Bay, Florida, up to twice a week starting March 2nd, and to Las Vegas, up to three times a week starting April 4th. At the end of May, the two popular holiday destinations in Canada, Vancouver and Calgary, will be added back to the flight schedule. There will be three flights a week to Vancouver and two flights a week to Calgary from Zurich. Denver will be served twice a week starting June 13th.
The Caribbean program, including Cancún, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Havana, San José, and Liberia in Costa Rica, will also be offered next summer. The two new holiday destinations, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania, will be served for the first time this summer and will be expanded by one weekly flight each. As was the case this year, Edelweiss will also serve the Maldives next summer with up to three weekly flights. Compared to summer 2021, the long-haul program in summer 2022 represents an increase of 185%.
Three new summer holiday destinations: Bergen, Bilbao and Cork
Between seven mountains and the sea lies the enchanting city of Bergen in a sheltered bay in southwest Norway. Bergen is ideally located between Norway's two largest fjords, both breathtaking destinations. Rumor has it that one of the world's most beautiful cruises departs from here. Edelweiss will fly to Bergen up to twice a week starting June 1st.
Modern buildings, renowned architecture, and excellent cuisine. Bilbao, Spain, offers all this and much more. The diverse natural scenery surrounding Bilbao leaves nothing to be desired: high mountains, dense forests, and a verdant coastline. Starting March 27, Edelweiss will fly up to three times a week from Zurich to the Spanish city.
With Cork, Edelweiss is offering its first holiday destination in Ireland. Located in the southwest, this lively town is an ideal base for exploring this enchanting region of Southern Ireland in all its facets. Whether on a day trip, a tour of Southern Ireland, or various sporting activities such as golf, flights to Cork will begin on April 15, with up to two flights per week.
Flights can be booked from flyedelweiss.com and through all usual sales channels.
When planning your trip, Edelweiss recommends carefully reviewing the entry requirements of the respective countries. Should renewed entry restrictions require an adjustment to the flight schedule, this will be communicated promptly. To ensure that you can plan your trip with confidence, Edelweiss continues to offer flexible and free rebooking options.
