Start of the winter flight schedule with first flights to the Cape Verde Islands, Muscat and Agadir

Summary
  • Edelweiss flies to five new holiday destinations in November and December
  • Fleet productivity back to pre-coronavirus levels
  • More offer over the holidays due to high demand

On November 2nd, Edelweiss celebrated with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony at the gate at Zurich Airport. Edelweiss CEO Bernd Bauer greeted passengers on the inaugural flight to Muscat at the gate before boarding and ceremoniously cut the red ribbon together with Florian Raff (Head of Aviation Development & Statistics, Zurich Airport) and the Edelweiss crew. The third inaugural flight of the week for Edelweiss followed on November 3rd, to Agadir, Morocco.

The first flight to Liberia, Costa Rica, will take place on November 28, and Edelweiss will add Luxor to its flight schedule on December 6. After the pandemic-related hiatus, Edelweiss will resume flights to Phuket on October 31 and Colombo, Sri Lanka, on November 4.

"I am very pleased that we can add the new destinations to our flight schedule. I also see this as a forward-looking signal for our company and am convinced that Edelweiss' entire winter flight schedule will be well received by our guests. This is especially true because all bookable holiday destinations are quarantine-free for vaccinated passengers," says Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss.

Fleet productivity returns to pre-coronavirus levels in winter 2021/22
With its winter flight schedule, Edelweiss will fly to 50 holiday destinations in 29 countries. The productivity of its short- and long-haul fleet will reach 2019 levels over the next few months. Due to the strong desire of the Swiss to travel, Edelweiss will offer more connections to selected holiday destinations over the 2021/22 holiday season:
