New holiday destinations and significantly larger long-haul offerings for winter 2021/22
- Liberia in Costa Rica and Luxor in Egypt new to the route network
- Colombo, Phuket, Havana, Cape Town and Mauritius will be served again
- First flights to Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Muscat and the Cape Verde Islands
With the start of its winter flight schedule on October 31, 2021, Edelweiss will reinstate the destinations Colombo (Sri Lanka), Phuket, and Havana. The new holiday destinations of Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania will be served for the first time starting in early October. Edelweiss will also resume flights to Cape Town, South Africa, and Mauritius at the same time. And now that Oman has reopened its borders to vaccinated tourists, Edelweiss will also be able to fly to Muscat for the first time.
The established Caribbean program with San José (Costa Rica), Punta Cana, and Cancún will be supplemented by Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Montego Bay in Jamaica. New flights will be offered to Liberia, Costa Rica. In the Indian Ocean, the popular destinations of the Maldives and Seychelles will remain a fixed part of Edelweiss' flight schedule.
Luxor expands the variety of destinations in Egypt
The Egyptian offering will be expanded over the winter. Starting in December, Edelweiss will fly once a week to the historic city of Luxor on the east bank of the Nile. The beach resorts of Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheik will be served several times a week, and Hurghada will be served daily.
Edelweiss has been flying to Reykjavik/Keflavik since summer 2021. This fascinating destination will also be served again starting in December. For lovers of warmer temperatures, Edelweiss flies to Ibiza every Saturday morning. Seville, Faro, and Funchal will also be served several times a week during the winter.
In Italy, Catania and Lamezia are served from Zurich every Friday and Sunday. Further south, two holiday destinations in Morocco, Marrakech and Agadir, are also available. Edelweiss will fly to Sal in the Cape Verde Islands for the first time on November 1, 2021.
Edelweiss' short-haul program is rounded off with popular holiday destinations in the Canary Islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and La Palma are all served several times a week.
