Edelweiss will be flying to Boa Vista starting with the winter schedule
- Expansion of services to Cape Verde: The island of Boa Vista in Cape Verde will be served by new flights
- Significantly more flights to Egypt, the Canary Islands and Italy
For the first time, there will be a large winter offering to the north, and Africa will also be further strengthened with destinations in Tanzania and South Africa. The Caribbean and Central America remain attractive, and Costa Rica will be further expanded.
Following the successful launch of the Sal route last winter, Edelweiss is expanding its service to Cape Verde with a second weekly flight. This flight now also serves the island of Boa Vista. This island is considered wind-resistant, making it a paradise for water sports enthusiasts—especially kitesurfing and windsurfing. Boa Vista boasts large, Caribbean-like beaches. Starting at the end of October 2022, Edelweiss will fly from Zurich to Sal every Monday and Thursday, and also to Boa Vista on Mondays. Flights to Boa Vista can be booked from July 12th.
Egypt, the Canary Islands and Italy with significantly more flights, Morocco open to travel again
Edelweiss is strengthening its popular Egyptian routes: We are now offering ten weekly flights to Hurghada, three to Marsa Alam, three to Sharm el Sheikh, and two to Luxor. Our service to the Canary Islands is also being expanded, with nine weekly flights each to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, three weekly flights to Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and one weekly flight to La Palma. Madeira will also be served three times a week. The weekly flights to Lamezia Terme and Catania in Italy will be doubled from two to four. Morocco is now open to travel again, and Edelweiss will serve Marrakech with up to five weekly flights, and Agadir with up to two weekly flights.
The winter offer in the North and Africa
For the first time, Edelweiss is offering a broad portfolio of northern destinations this winter. We fly once a week to Tromsø and Bergen (both from mid-December) and up to three times a week to Reykjavik/Keflavik in Iceland. Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, will be offered with two weekly flights. The connection to Cape Town, South Africa, will be expanded by one weekly flight to three. Until the beginning of February, we will also fly twice a week to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania.
Caribbean and Central America remain attractive – Costa Rica continues to expand
Destinations in the Caribbean and Central America remain popular. Up to 10 flights per week serve our destinations from Zurich. San José and Cancún are the most popular destinations, with three flights per week each. Liberia/Guanacaste now offers two flights per week.
Edelweiss offers 34 short- and medium-haul destinations and 17 long-haul destinations in its winter flight schedule. The winter flight schedule runs from October 30, 2022, to March 25, 2023.
