Edelweiss takes off for Tbilisi for the first time
- First flight took place on Saturday, April 12, 2025
- Flights will be offered twice a week until the end of October

Last Saturday, Edelweiss celebrated the launch of its new service to Tbilisi, the Georgian capital. The inaugural flight was celebrated with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony at Zurich Airport. Representatives from Edelweiss, the Embassy of Georgia in Switzerland, and Zurich Airport ceremoniously opened the new route.
The small country of Georgia in the South Caucasus captivates with its wild natural beauty and multifaceted cuisine that tempts all the senses. The capital, Tbilisi, is a cultural melting pot where Soviet, European, and Middle Eastern influences blend to create a unique flair.
Visitors can get an initial overview with a cable car ride to the Narikala Fortress, discover the dazzling Junah Mosque, or relax in the vibrant "Fabrika" with its boutiques and cafés. Typical specialties such as crispy khachapuri and aromatic wine also make Tbilisi an unforgettable culinary experience. The city is also an ideal starting point for trips to the mountains of Stepantsminda or to the wine regions and the Black Sea at Batumi.
Edelweiss flies twice a week with an Airbus A320 from Zurich to Tbilisi until the end of October.
