- One weekly flight, every Friday
- Number of short/medium-haul destinations increases to 39 in the winter flight schedule
The Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss is expanding its short- and medium-haul network and will be flying to two new holiday destinations in Finland starting in February 2024. The two new destinations, Ivalo and Kuusamo, are ideal for enjoying magical winter experiences. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, they also offer a wide range of winter activities such as snowmobile safaris, dog sledding, and Northern Lights tours.
Ivalo: The largest town in Northern Lapland
Ivalo is Finland's third most important tourist destination, alongside Kittilä and Rovaniemi. The region, home to the Saariselkä winter sports resort, is particularly popular with cross-country skiers, offering 230 km of trails, and is also suitable for downhill skiing and snowshoeing. A special highlight is the toboggan run, illuminated with Aurora Experience light art.
Kuusamo: The region is considered the snowiest area in Finland
With its famous winter sports center, Ruka, the municipality of Kuusamo, with its 15,000 inhabitants, is one of Finland's most important tourist centers. In addition to countless winter activities, Kuusamo also offers cultural attractions. Theater performances, art exhibitions, and films for every taste are on offer.
Edelweiss will fly nonstop from Zurich to Ivalo and Kuusamo every Friday from February 2 to March 22, 2024. The flights are now bookable at flyedelweiss.com and through all usual sales channels. The first piece of normal-sized sports equipment will be transported free of charge.
