The inaugural flight to Tampa Bay, Florida, was celebrated at Zurich Airport on March 2. Additional US destinations include Las Vegas from March 28 and Denver from June 13. Nonstop flights to Canada will begin on May 15 with Vancouver and on June 5 with Calgary.

After a two-year hiatus, the leading Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss resumed nonstop flights to North America on Wednesday, March 2. Tampa Bay, Florida, is the first holiday destination to be served on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The resumption of flights was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Zurich Airport. Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss, and Patrick Heymann, CCO of Edelweiss, were there to witness this special moment. "Today is a special day for Edelweiss. We have waited a long time for this moment. We are delighted that we can now offer our guests vacation destinations in the USA and Canada again," said Bernd Bauer.

On Monday, March 28, Edelweiss will resume nonstop flights to Las Vegas. This destination will also be served twice a week, and from June onwards, even three times a week. Just in time for the holiday season in the USA, Edelweiss will also reopen the Zurich-Denver route starting June 13. This destination will be served every Monday and Friday until September.

Flights to Canada resume in May
Canada lovers can look forward to May 15th, when the first flight will take place, to Vancouver on the west coast of British Columbia. Edelweiss will fly to this holiday destination every Sunday and Tuesday, and from June onwards, also on Saturdays. Calgary in the western Canadian province of Alberta will round out the North American offerings. Starting June 5th, Edelweiss will fly to this city at the foot of the Rocky Mountains every Sunday and Wednesday.

With the new holiday destinations, Edelweiss offers 59 destinations in 19 countries on short- and medium-haul flights this summer, and 19 destinations in 13 countries on long-haul flights.

The flights can be booked at flyedelweiss.com and through all usual sales channels. The first piece of normal-category sports equipment is transported free of charge, and of course, onboard catering is included in the Edelweiss offer.
