Edelweiss flies to Halifax for the first time
- First flight took place on Thursday, July 3
- Ceremonial ribbon cutting at the gate at Zurich Airport
- Two flights per week until the beginning of October
Today, Thursday, Edelweiss took off for the first time from Zurich to the Canadian port city of Halifax. The new direct connection was celebrated with a celebratory ceremony at Zurich Airport. At the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss, and Rolf Hancock, Vice President Aviation Development at Zurich Airport, together with the crew, cut the ribbon, officially opening the new route.
Flights to Halifax take place every Thursday and Sunday. The season ends in mid-October.
After Vancouver and Calgary, Halifax is already Edelweiss' third destination in Canada. "With Halifax, we are opening up a new, fascinating region of Canada: Atlantic Canada.
