Edelweiss expands non-stop connection from Zurich to Cape Town
The seasonal non-stop service from Zurich to Cape Town will be expanded from the existing two to three connections per week during the South African summer season. Edelweiss will now also fly to the South African metropolis on Wednesdays, in addition to the existing Monday and Friday flights.
"The route is a great success for Edelweiss. By expanding to a third connection, we are meeting a customer need," said Alain Chisari, Chief Commercial Officer at Edelweiss. "To meet demand during the peak season, we will be flying to Cape Town on Wednesdays between December 3, 2014, and March 11, 2015," Chisari continued.

The additional flight will be operated by an Airbus A330-300 from sister company Swiss International Air Lines, with Edelweiss crew. The aircraft features 52 fully lie-flat seats in Business Class and 183 in Economy Class. These fully lie-flat seats can be converted into two-meter-long beds in a snap. Edelweiss introduced these seats on its own long-haul fleet just last month.
